Melvyn Danes - Managing Director
Having over 40 years experience in Estate Agency in the Solihull area Melvyn was one of the founding partners of the business in 1994. Melvyn still takes overall control of the day to day running of the company and is based at our Solihull office.
Patrick Waters - Chartered Surveyor & Lettings Director
Patrick joined the company in 1994 when the company expanded to include a lettings and surveyors department. Having over 35 years in experience within the industry and a wealth of local knowledge, Patrick is our resident Chartered Surveyor and Lettings Department Manager based at the Shirley office.
Adam Marshall - Director
Adam joined the company as office manager of the Shirley branch in 2002. Adam has worked within the estate agency industry for over 16 years both with larger corporate and smaller independent estate agency practices. He is responsible for the day to day running of the Shirley office.
Michelle McGowan - Valuer
Michelle has worked in the Solihull area for over 15 years, managing successful corporate estate agency branches. Michelle has taken over the valuations for Solihull branch directly from Melvyn, and has already established a reputation for approachability and providing realistic advice within the local area.
Melanie Carr - Senior Sales Negotiator
Melanie joined the Solihull office team in 2004, bringing 10 years previous experience in local corporate estate agency. Melanie has a tenacious character and enjoys the day to day challenges her position brings. She is popular with local solicitors owing to her extensive knowledge of the processes involved with buying and selling property.
Helen Holden - Receptionist
Since joining the company in 2003, Helen has progressed from weekend receptionist to Receptionist within the busy Solihull office. Helen is a competent and organised individual that is very popular with clients and purchasers alike.
Barbara Hewston - Viewing Representative
A Solihull resident through and through, Barbara has worked with the estate agency business for over 25 years, and we are privileged that she has continued to work for the company into her retirement. Her wealth of experience makes the buying process much easier for the purchasers she meets on a day to day basis.
Pat Gilbert - Assistant Branch Manager
Pat joined the company in 2006, following a career with another local independent estate agency. Having lived within the borough all of her life, Pat brings a wealth of local knowledge to the office. Pat shares the valuations for the office with Adam, and oversees Alex in the aftersales department.
Vanessa Watkins - Senior Sales Negotiator
Now Shirley offices longest serving staff member, Vanessa joined Melvyn and Sue in 1994 as an administrator. Her experienced gained over her time within the company has lead to her current position where she is responsible for providing client feedback to our vendors whilst their property is on the market.
Deborah France - Sales Negotiator
Debbie joined the team at Shirley in 2007, following a lengthy career with a major national housebuilder. Debbie is responsible for the diary management of the office, and looks after the branch mailing list, updating registered purchasers on the availability of property being marketed by ourselves.
Alex Browne - Contract Chaser
Alex is responsible for our ‘after sales’ care for all of clients. Following any successful negotiation, Alex will regularly update and inform our clients as to the progress of the sale and related chains. Following a 15 year career within residential conveyancing, Alex has the knowledge and personality to deliver results for all Melvyn Danes vendors and purchasers alike.
Cherie Stewart - Viewing Representative
Cherie has lived in Shirley all of her life and joined the office in 2000 as a viewing representative. She is well liked and remembered by many of the Shirley residents whom have viewed properties with her over the years.
Allan Cooper - Viewing Representative
Allan joined the company in 2001, and transferred to the Shirley office in 2003 as an additional viewing representative to assist with the increased viewing levels. Allan and his family are long standing Shirley residents, giving him a local knowledge that is second to none.
Taryn Clarke - Weekend Receptionist
Since joining the company in 2005, Taryn has been a popular member of the staff team. Keeping the momentum over the weekend, Taryn is responsible for the booking of appointments and registering purchasers onto the mailing list.
Vanessa Coleman - Lettings Department Manager
Since the formation of the Lettings and Survey Department in 1993, Vanessa has worked alongside the Director, Patrick Waters. She therefore has an extremely wide knowledge and experience of the Residential Lettings Industry. Her friendly but efficient manner has helped hundreds of Landlords over the years.
Pamela Kenny - Senior Lettings Administrator
Pam joined the Lettings and Survey Department, initially on a part time basis in 1998. She works alongside Vanessa in the Lettings Office and also provides secretarial support to the Director, Patrick Waters. Pam is our troubleshooter and her thorough and persistent attention to detail invaluable to both Landlords and tenants.
Clare Bettridge - Lettings Negotiator/Inventory Clerk
Clare has been with us since 2000 and is fully involved with all aspects of the lettings process from carrying out initial viewings through to compilation of inventories and checking tenants out of the property at the end of their term. If you have a query, she can answer it.
Jenny Byrne - Lettings Administrator
Jenny has been with the Company since 2004 initially on a part time basis. She is involved in most aspects of the lettings process from arranging viewings to processing application forms and referencing together with drawing up of letting agreements and inventories.
